Creamy Caramel Sauce
This easy and delicious caramel sauce is perfect poured over ice-cream, pancakes, waffles or an indulgent banana split. You’re only limited by your imagination!
225g unrefined golden caster sugar (we like to use Fairtrade)
142ml single cream
50g salted butter - cubed
1. Put the sugar and 100ml water in a heavy-based pan. Heat gently, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Turn up the heat, stop stirring and wait until the sauce turns dark golden.
2. Gradually stir in the cream until smooth and shiny - take care as it will bubble up. Stir in the butter until melted and mixed through.
